Internet based video surveillance systems offer a
completely new dimension to your home or small business
security plan. One of the biggest advantages gained from
using a wireless security camera for Internet based
surveillance is the ability to view captured video directly
over the Internet.
Another positive feature of using a
wireless Internet security camera is the fact that you can
often control the camera settings and camera angles remotely
through the Internet as well. This article takes a closer
look at a popular line of
Internet security cameras called SecuriCam by
D-Link.
The D-Link SecuriCam line contains a wide array of video
surveillance cameras and equipment that are perfect for your
home or small business surveillance needs. We will seek to
take a brief survey of some of the key components of their
product line in an effort to help you determine if their
equipment is best suited for your specific surveillance
needs.
-
DCS-6620 and
DCS-6620G -- This camera comes in a wired
(DCS-6620) or Wireless-G version (DCS-6620G). It features
a 10x optical zoom lens and built in microphone. With this
camera, you can also remotely pan/tilt/zoom the camera
lens for greater viewing flexibility. Another unique
feature of this camera system is a two-way audio function.
If you connect a speaker to the camera itself, you can
actually communicate remotely with subjects near the
camera.
This camera is also built to work well in extremely low
light conditions. The camera requires a minimum of just
.05 Lux, which means you can capture, and record video in
almost total darkness. This system is also designed to
work with up to 16 surveillance cameras. Given the ability
to configure motion detection settings and set recording
schedules on such a large network of cameras, you can
implement a very comprehensive security network.
-
DCS-3420 -- This camera is a wireless day/night
Internet camera that is designed for remote monitoring of
your home or small business. This camera offers the same
remote monitoring and control features that come with the
DCS-6620 camera line mentioned above. The DCS-3420 however
is better suited for a wider array of lighting conditions.
If you are in need of performing frequent nighttime
surveillance, this camera offers several customization
options that allow you to film in total darkness.
Customizable options include an IR illuminator which aides
in the capture and viewing of nighttime images. You can
also add a night vision lens to this camera and an outdoor
camera enclosure, which make this camera perfect for
outdoor nighttime surveillance.
-
DCS-2120 -- This camera is designed to provide
live video feeds directly to your 3G mobile phone or PDA.
You can also configure this system to transmit email
alerts with live video feeds directly to your cell phone
when motion is detected. You can use this system to
monitor video on your personal computer, but this system
is definitely designed with the mobile user in mind.
These are just three options that are available in the
extensive line of camera products offered by D-Link. As you
can see the range of features and superior technology make
this line of cameras a great choice for those of you
interested in implementing a comprehensive security network
for your home or office. Please visit the following link for
