Nanny surveillance is a very popular and growing trend
among many working parents. You may already have one of
these systems installed in your home. Or, perhaps you are
just in the process of learning more about this type of
surveillance system with the intention of installing one in
the near future. Either way, you can benefit from learning
about several other creative uses for this video monitoring
technology you may not have ever considered.
While these unique surveillance systems are very
effective at watching over your children and their
caregivers, other practical benefits for home video
surveillance can be realized as well. In this article, we
will explore some of the added benefits you can gain from
your system.
1. Use as a home surveillance device when allowing
other workers in your home
Many busy working parents have to hire other in home
workers to perform certain tasks for them out of sheer
necessity. Common needs include; house cleaners, pet
sitters, and repair workers. Each time you allow one of
these workers into your home while you are not there, you
have to trust that they have your best interest at heart. If
you already have a hidden nanny surveillance system in
place, you have a very practical way of keeping tabs over
what they are actually doing inside your home.
2. Use as a remote home surveillance device while you
are out of town
Another practical use for nanny surveillance systems is
as a tool for monitoring your home remotely that can be
accessed while you are away from your home for extended
periods. One of the biggest benefits of the newer nanny
surveillance systems is remote accessibility to the system.
Those of you that travel away from home for extended periods
can utilize the same benefit parents get from being able to
log in to their system remotely. With this type of remote
access, you can view the video surveillance cameras within
you home from any remote location where you have access to
the internet. You can breathe a little easier the next time
you leave home because you can now have a way to check in
whenever you want.
3. Keep an eye on your pets while you are out
For some of us, our pets are like our children. We want
to make sure they are happy and content while they are at
home alone. With a hidden nanny surveillance system, you can
log in and view what your pet is doing at any give time.
Instantly know whether your pet is happy and comfortable, or
being mischievous and getting into trouble. Being able to
determine how your pet is coping may also give you more
flexibility in your day. It will be easier knowing when you
actually need to get home to tend to their needs.
4. Monitor your older teens while they are home alone
Even though your children may have grown, and you no
longer have the need for in home child caregivers, it does
not mean your surveillance system is no longer beneficial.
Many parents have found their nanny surveillance systems
extremely useful for keeping tabs on their older teens. Even
if you do not feel comfortable watching their every move, a
few simple checks may be all the proof you need to confirm
your trust in them is well grounded. You may also feel
better knowing you can monitor the security in and around
the home to ensure their safety as well.
5. Incorporate additional features for a complete home
video surveillance system
With all of the unique sensors and accessories on the
market, you can create an even more robust and comprehensive
surveillance system for added home protection. Some examples
of what you can add include:
- Motion sensors -- With the addition of motion
sensors to your surveillance system, you can be alerted
to any activity within direct vicinity of your
surveillance cameras. Many motion sensors are designed
to be incorporated with your recording devices as well
allowing for automatic recording anytime motion is
sensed. In addition, many motion sensors can be set up
to trigger automated alerts through either email or
phone message whenever motion is detected.
- Temperature and water sensors -- Some
surveillance systems allow you to incorporate sensors
that are capable of detecting temperature changes and
the presence of water. This can be a big asset when you
are away from home for extended periods. You will
instantly know if there are problems within your home
that need to be addressed.
- Email alerts -- Newer surveillance systems
that allow you to incorporate these added sensors also
often give you the ability to set up automated email
alerts. Any time an event occurs that is detected by one
of the incorporated sensors, you can set your system up
to automatically alert you of the event through an
email, or automated phone call.
As you can see if you already have a nanny camera system,
or are planning on getting one, you have many ways to put it
to good use within your home. Using surveillance to monitor
your children and their nanny may be all the reason you need
to install a system within your home. However, if you see
any of these other uses as valuable alternatives, you will
be assured a much greater return on your investment.
