There are many Internet enabled wireless video cameras on the market today. With all of the available choices, you really need to do your homework to make sure you are getting the best camera for your money. One such wireless network camera on the market today is the Linksys Wireless-G PTZ Camera. Let's perform a Linksys Wireless-G PTZ Camera review by looking at four different video camera review sites to see how this Internet camera fares.

Information Week posted a review on the Linksys Wireless-G Internet Video Camera and stated that the Linksys G PTZ is great for small business security installations, but it tends to be difficult to install, and has poor color quality. However, they did mention that for its price, its design is actually superior to most similarly priced models.

PriceGrabber.com lists some reviews directly from Linksys camera owners on their site. One owner stated that the video from the Linksys WVC200 was not viewable from Mac Safari or Firefox browsers. Video is only viewable if you use Explorer 5.5 or higher. Another user stated that the motion sensor on the Linksys WVC200 was very poor. It would only detect motion from about a foot away.

Another site called NetworkCameraReviews.com had mostly positive reviews of this camera listed on their site. One respondent noted a slightly less than perfect picture quality, but overall remarked it was a good buy for the price. Another noted that while the pan feature works fine remotely, it is noisy while panning.

Another great site for reviews is Amazon.com. In fact, this site contains some very detailed reviews of the Linksys Wireless-G Camera with PTZ. Most users commented that the camera was hard to set up. However, it was noted that this is not necessarily just a problem inherent with this particular video camera but with the installation of wireless network cameras in general. Other comments included a noisy pan/tilt motor, poor color quality, and flimsy camera mount. On the plus side, it worked well when viewed remotely, had good audio sound, and overall was a bargain based on what you get for the price.

It seems like the Linksys WVC200 is a relatively good wireless network camera for the price. For a lower priced camera, it comes with many features that usually only come with higher priced versions. However, while the features are there, you will have to make a trade off on quality, as it is not quite up to par with the higher priced models. If you are in the market for a wireless Internet camera and do not want to spend a whole lot of money, the Wireless-G PTZ Camera from Linksys may be just what you need.
